17 May 2022, Jakarta – Ambassador Noel Servigon, the Philippines’ Permanent Representative to ASEAN, attended the 5th Meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) for 2022 on 17 May 2022.
During the meeting, Ambassador Servigon, in his capacity as the country coordinator for ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations, briefed the Meeting about events to be held in commemoration of the 45th Anniversary of ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations in 2022.
The CPR discussed outcome documents and various initiatives for the 55th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) and related meetings in July-August, as well as the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summit in November, both of which will be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia under Cambodia’s chairmanship. The CPR also discussed ASEAN’s relations with its dialogue partners and other external parties, and reports and recommendations to ASEAN Senior Officials and ASEAN Ministers.
The CPR is composed of the Ambassadors/Permanent Representative to ASEAN of all 10 ASEAN Member States, namely, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.
Based in Jakarta, the CPRsupports the work of the ASEAN Community Councils and ASEAN Sectoral Ministerial Bodies, coordinates with ASEAN National Secretariats and other ASEAN Sectoral Ministerial Bodies, facilitates ASEAN cooperation with external partners and liaises with the Secretary-General of ASEAN and the ASEAN Secretariat on all matters relevant to its work.
