7 March 2023 - Philippine SOM Leader and Undersecretary for Bilateral and ASEAN Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro met SOM Leader and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Nong Rong of China on the margins of the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting and Related Meetings on 6 March 2023 at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral relations between the Philippines and China, and enhance cooperation between ASEAN and China. They both expressed support for Indonesia’s ASEAN Chairmanship this year. END
