CPR and ACWC Team Up for Women and Children’s Rights
The Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR) met with the ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC) in Jakarta on 19 February 2014 to discuss ways on how the two ASEAN bodies could collaborate to help ACWC perform its mandate and carry out its Work Plan for 2012-2016.
The ACWC held its 8th Meeting at the ASEAN Secretariat and held consultations with other ASEAN sectoral bodies and members of the Civil Society Organizations.
The ACWC was established in 2010 to promote the implementation of international and ASEAN instruments related to the rights of women and children, develop policies and programs to promote and protect the rights of women and children and promote awareness and education of the rights of women and children in ASEAN.
