Buensuceso and other members of the Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR) met with Admiral Samuel Locklear, Commander of the US Pacific Command, and newly accredited US Ambassador to Indonesia, Robert Blake. The CPR and Admiral Locklear discussed issues concerning peace and security in the region, including the South China Sea (West Philippine Sea). Ambassador Buensuceso took the opportunity to inform the informal meeting about developments in the arbitration process lodged by the Philippines before the UNCLOS Arbitration panel.
