16 June 2022. – Ambassador Noel Servigon, Permanent Representative of the Philippines to ASEAN, participated in the 10th ASEAN-New Zealand Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting at the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta, to advance ASEAN-New Zealand Dialogue Relations.
Ambassador Servigon expressed appreciation to New Zealand for its support for ASEAN Member States’ efforts in mitigating the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. He encouraged New Zealand to cooperate with ASEAN Member States on the sustainable management and conservation of biological diversity, which can contribute to the prevention of the emergence of new zoonotic diseases, including through the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity. He also welcomed and further encouraged New Zealand to assist ASEAN on mitigating and adapting to the impacts of climate change in line with the New Zealand Government’s priorities.
The meeting is an opportunity for ASEAN and New Zealand to promote mutually beneficial cooperation and engage in dialogue on important regional and international issues. END.
