Day 2 of the ASEAN Charter Webinar for the ASEAN Matters Technical Board 16 June 2022

16 June 2022, Jakarta – In line with efforts to promote a rules-based ASEAN, the Philippine Mission to ASEAN conducted a two-day webinar form 15 to 16 June 2022 on the ASEAN Charter for members of the ASEAN Matters Technical Board (AMTB).

Ambassador Noel Servigon, the Philippines’ Permanent Representative to ASEAN, delivered a lecture on ASEAN Organs, Decision Making, Dispute Settlement and External Relations. The topical format of the webinar sought to correlate relevant provisions of the Charter in order to develop a wholistic understanding of the intent of the Charter drafters.

Attendees included officials and staff from various Philippine government agencies who participated in a lively discussion on the provisions of the ASEAN Charter as well as recent issues faced by ASEAN as a regional organization. (END)
