03 June 2022, Jakarta – Ambassador Noel Servigon, the Philippines’ Permanent Representative to ASEAN, attended the 6th Meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) for 2022 on 02 June 2022 at the ASEAN Secretariat.
As the country coordinator for ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations, Ambassador Servigon updated the meeting on the progress of negotiations on the ASEAN-EU Plan of Action 2023-2027 and proposed ways forward to bridge national positions.
Ambassador Servigon also reiterated his recommendation made 3 years ago for the improvement of the way documents are coded and numbered. He suggested that the ASEAN Secretariat should consider the United Nations documentation numbering system.
The CPR discussed preparations for the upcoming meetings for the year, including other proposed outcome documents and statements.
In accordance with Article 12 of the ASEAN Charter, the CPR supports the work of the ASEAN Community Councils and ASEAN Sectoral Ministerial Bodies as well as facilitates ASEAN cooperation with external partners, among others. (END)
