02 October 2013 – The Philippine Permanent Representative to ASEAN, Ambassador Elizabeth P. Buensuceso, symbolically turned over the contribution of theGovernment oftheRepublicofthePhilippines to the ASEAN Foundation through its Executive Director, Dr. Makarim Wibisono, in a simpleceremonyat the Permanent Mission of the Philippines to ASEAN inJakartaonSeptember20.

AmbassadorBuensuceso notedthatthe contribution grant amounting to US$85,000.00 will be used in support of the ASEAN Foundation’sinitiativesthat would help achieveASEANintegration.AmbassadorBuensuceso alsostatedthatthe Philippines ispleasedtoseetheprogressoftheASEANFoundationandcommended the ExecutiveDirectorforhisinvaluable support in promotingASEANthroughregionalandinternational platforms.

OnbehalfoftheASEAN Foundation,Dr.MakarimWibisonoconveyedtheFoundation’shighest gratitude andappreciationtothePhilippine GovernmentforitscontinuedsupporttotheASEANFoundation and its efforts to supporttheASEAN community-buildingprocess. Dr. Wibisono also notedthatsince2010,thePhilippinecontribution to the ASEAN Foundation project funds amountstoUS$370,000.00. END
