Bangkok, 31 October 2019. The Permanent Mission of the Philippines to ASEAN attended today the 14/2019 Meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Permanent Mission’s delegation was led by Permanent Representative and Ambassador to ASEAN Noel Servigon. He was accompanied by Deputy Permanent Representative to ASEAN Noel M. Novicio, Third Secretary John Paul Samonte and Attaché Marc Jaucian.
The CPR meeting kicked off the 35th ASEAN Summit, Related Summits and Related Meetings, which will run from 31 October to 4 November 2019.
The CPR discussed coordination issues related to cross-sectoral matters, developments in ASEAN’s external relations, and ASEAN community building initiatives.
This week’s meetings culminate Thailand’s chairmanship of ASEAN this year under the theme “Advancing Partnership for Sustainability.” Later this week, Thailand will also host the 22nd ASEAN-China Summit, 16th ASEAN-India Summit, 22nd ASEAN-Japan Summit, 7th ASEAN-United States Summit, 10th ASEAN-UN Summit, 22nd ASEAN Plus Three Summit, 14th East Asia Summit, and 3rd RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) Summit.
