The Joint Council, which is the policy-making body of the ACC, approved the ACC’s 2018 Annual Report, 2019 Work Plan, and 2019 Annual Budget.
“I congratulated the ACC for their hard work in implementing 21 flagship projects and various activities in 2018,” Ambassador Buensuceso stressed.
“I also underscored the important role and contribution of the ASEAN-China Centre in promoting trade, investment, tourism, educational and cultural cooperation between ASEAN and China for mutual benefit since its establishment in 2011.”
Ambassador Buensuceso emphasized that the ASEAN-China Centre has a strategic role in advancing the ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership to new heights by implementing projects and initiatives that will contribute in forging closer cooperation between ASEAN and China, including through the full and effective implementation of the ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership Vision 2030 and the 2016-2020 Plan of Action to Implement the Joint Declaration on the ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity.
Ambassador Buensuceso was accompanied at the ACC Joint Council meeting by Philippine Consul-General in Chongqing Crescente R. Relacion and Philippine Deputy Permanent Representative to ASEAN Noel M. Novicio.
Located in Beijing, the ACC serves as a one-stop information and activities center to promote ASEAN-China cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, education, culture, and information and media with active involvement of the private sector. It will gradually expand to include a more comprehensive array of activities and participants. END
