Ambassador Elizabeth P. Buensuceso, Permanent Representative of the Philippines to ASEAN, met with H.E. Huang Xilian, the new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to ASEAN, on 31 January 2018 at the Philippine Mission to ASEAN in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Amb. Buensuceso and Amb. Huang exchanged views on the current status of ASEAN-China dialogue relations. They noted that this year marks the 15th anniversary of ASEAN-China strategic partnership. Related to this, they both agreed to closely coordinate on various initiatives and projects to mark this milestone in ASEAN-China strategic partnership. They further noted that ASEAN and China will issue their “Vision 2030” at the ASEAN-China summit in Singapore later this year.
They also discussed preparations for the proposed visit of Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) to China later this year.
