27 March 2017, Jakarta – The Secretary-General of the United Cities and Local Governments in Asia-Pacific (UCLG-ASPAC), Dr. Bernadia Tjandradewi, called on the Permanent Representative of the Philippines to ASEAN, Ambassador Elizabeth P. Buensuceso, to explore areas where it may lend its support to ASEAN community-building initiatives in pursuit of common goals across all three ASEAN pillars: Economic, Socio-Cultural and Political. Discussions included the Mayor’s Forum, which will be held on 26-28 July 2017 in Taguig City, Philippines, as well as activities to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN. UCLG-ASPAC is linked to the local governments in the region and seeks to foster collaboration among key regional stakeholders through knowledge sharing and mutual learning.
