Philippine Permanent Representative to ASEAN, H.E. Elizabeth P. Buensuceso met with the first dedicated Ambassador of Canada to ASEAN, H.E. Marie-Louise Hannan,who called on her at the Philippine Permanent Mission to ASEAN in Jakarta on 07 April 2016. In line with the Philippines’ coordinatorship of ASEAN-Canada dialogue relations for the next three years, the two Ambassadorsdiscussed strengtheningASEAN-Canada partnership, as exemplified by the expansion of the Canadian Mission to ASEAN.They also discussed the outcomes of therecently conducted ASEAN-Canada Cooperation Consultative Workshop held at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta on 05 April 2016, as well as plans for commemorative activities to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of ASEAN-Canada Dialogue Relationsin 2017. Ambassador Buensuceso, in her capacity as country coordinator of ASEAN-Canada dialogue relations in the Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR) to ASEAN, urged Canada to explore new ways of supporting ASEAN initiatives, namely in political and security, economic, social and cultural dimensions, as well as connectivity.
