16 October 2015. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Amb. Elizabeth P. Buensuceso, Permanent Representative of the Philippines to ASEAN and the ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee (ACCC) led the Philippine delegation to the 3/2015 Meeting of the ACCC and the Fourth Meeting of the ACCC with the National Coordinators (NCs) on the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 15 October 2015. The members of the ACCC and the NCs discussed ideas to strengthen coordination for the implementation of the MPAC and the formulation of the post-2015 ASEAN Connectivity Agenda.
The ACCC and NCs also attended the 6th ASEAN Connectivity Symposium where issues and challenges faced by ASEAN in implementing the MPAC and ideas for the post-2015 ASEAN Connectivity Agenda were discussed. The Symposium, held on 16 October 2015, was also attended by representatives from the private sector, International Organizations and Dialogue Partners to present their perspectives and expectations for the post-2015 ASEAN Connectivity Agenda.
The twin events were also attended by Ms. Mary Anne A. Padua, Executive Director, DFA-Office of ASEAN Affairs, Mr. Felicisimo C. Pangilinan, Jr., Deputy Director and Officer-in-Charge, Planning Service, Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC), and Mr. Michael Lyndon B. Garcia, Officer-in-Charge of ACCC Matters at the Philippine Permanent Mission in Jakarta.
The ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee, established under the ASEAN Coordinating Council pursuant to the decision of the 17th ASEAN Summit on 28 October 2010, is tasked to oversee the implementation of the MPAC. The Master Plan aims at establishing a well-connected ASEAN that will contribute towards a more competitive and resilient region where peoples, goods, services and capital are brought closer together.
