Permanent Mission of the Philippines to ASEAN Chargé d'Affaires, a.i., Ms. Elizabeth T. Te and the Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, discussed the Philippines’ preparations ahead of the 2026 Philippine chairship of ASEAN in a meeting held at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat on 17 March 2025.

CDA Te shared that internal consultations on the Philippines’ theme and priorities for its chairship are ongoing. In response, the Secretary-General extended the ASEAN Secretariat’s support to the Philippines for its upcoming chairship.

Both sides pledged to work closely together in the coming months and onwards into 2026. END.
