Amb. Noel Servigon receives the trophy and certificate from Dr. Prita Kemal Gani, the president of the ASEAN Public Relations Network.

14 January 2022—The president of the ASEAN Public Relations Network (APRN), Dr. Prita Kemal Gani, officially handed over the trophy and certificate to Ambassador Noel Servigon for the award won by the Philippine Mission to ASEAN in the 3rd ASEAN PR Excellence Awards under the Best in Government PR category (bronze) in ceremonies held at the LSPR Communication and Business Institute in Jakarta on 13 January 2022.

According to Ambassador Servigon, the award validates the Philippine Mission’s advocacy to promote awareness of what ASEAN stands for and its significance to the ordinary ASEAN citizen.  The Philippine Mission to ASEAN is the first diplomatic mission to receive such award from APRN.

“We believe that there is a need for the people of Southeast Asia to take a genuine interest in each other’s cultures, way of life and gain information on intergovernmental cooperation to create trust and understanding within the region towards the attainment of a common ASEAN identity,” said Ambassador Servigon. “To this end, the Philippine Mission to ASEAN will continue its public diplomacy/public relations thrust in helping raise awareness of the different facets of ASEAN, ranging from the political and legal perspectives, economic development, environmental awareness, culture, gender equality and health, among others.”

The ASEAN PR Excellence Awards is a biennial event in conjunction with the ASEAN International Film Festival and organized by the ASEAN PR NETWORK (APRN) in collaboration with World Communications Malaysia (World Comm) and Institute Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM). It is held to benchmark the industry and practice standards as a distinctive badge to recognize and celebrate achievements in Public Relations practice in the ASEAN region.
